hello
Who do you know that might want to do this?
I have come across something that I think is a great opportunity for
personal and professional development: A fellows program (funded by William
T. Grant Foundation) with the goal of crossing boundaries between policy,
practice, and research. I think this is very important work.
Here is the short version of how I understand it:
-deadline for letter of inquiry: NOVember3
-a midcareer and influential person
-working with youth..nonprofit
-they are looking for a policy-maker or practitioner ONLY
-time length is 6 months full time..or can be broken up
-up to $175,000 for duration of fellowship
-someone who is interested in making connections outside their normal sphere
of work

In August 2005, the William T. Grant Foundation launched a Request for
Proposals to pilot test its Distinguished Fellows Program for mid-career
influential researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
The goal of the Distinguished Fellows Program is to increase the supply of,
demand for, and use of high-quality research in the service of improved
youth outcomes.
To accomplish this, we are pilot testing a fellowship program so that
mid-career practitioners/policymakers can spend extended time working in a
research setting or researchers can spend extended time working in a
practitioner/policymaking setting. In the second year of the pilot, we will
be accepting applications from policymakers and practitioners only.
To test this idea and improve the design of the fellowship program, the
Foundation plans to grant four to five awards every year for the next few
years as a pilot test. If the results of the pilot test are promising, we
plan to make the fellowship program part of our ongoing grantmaking.

Know that the love which blooms inside you is stronger than fear,||
for people who love find strength they didnt know they had.||
Know that the love inside you is stronger than illness,||
for people who love hang in when physical health is gone.||
And know that love is indeed stronger than death,||
for people who love are like stones tossed into a pool.||
The circles of love radiate out and echo back||
long after the stone has come to rest on the bottom.||
