[YL] Concerned about girls and gangs

Hi my name is Lorez Morris-EL, Girls in gangs is a touchey situation. Fisrt you must get a clue on the background before you make any assestments.  MOST OF THESE GIRLS ARE LOOKING TO FIT IN AND BE A PART OF SOMETHING. This is where we start.  Assess these young ladies, offer them an alternative, make the program steerede towards what the young ladies are interested in doing or would like to do some day. Set standards that they must complete a program that involves self improvement along with initiative. Keep them involved and ask them what they are interested in doing. Create cooking and sewing programs for them the basics. You will see a change last but not least talk with their parents include them and see if there is a problem wi th the parents as well . Take these young women to prisons to talk with other female inmates about gangs and where the violence didn't do anything but get them convicted. This is a sure thing because there are things that convicts could tell them that
 they would never imagine could happen to them.
