Senetta and others,

I would like to offer the work of my colleague, Lori Rolleri, and myself on parent-child connectedness. You can see our research and publications on www.etr.org/recapp. Just search on parent-child connectedness (PCC).

What you won't find yet on ReCAPP is our model of the seven parent behaviors that establish, maintain and increase connectedness or the six intervention activities that we've designed that can be used by a wide variety of CBOs to work with parents around connectedness to their teens. We are self-publishing both of these works in the next few months, but I'd be happy to send you draft copies if you're interested.

While we were forced by limits to our resources to focus on parents, we are interested in understanding connectedness between children or youth and other significant adults. We'd be VERY interested in your thoughts, or those of your colleagues, on the applications of our work to foster care settings.

Linda I am writing a dissertation about children in foster care and training for their parents. Would you like to see it. I welcome any ideas on training, bonding family relations. I am the director of a foster care agency and my goal is for parents to keep kids in their homes longer and stop sending them back to protective services.

The services we provide for all of the children in our program are a direct result of your generous support. We thank God for you! It encourages us to know that you are standing with us in this great and noble cause of caring for the abused and neglected children of this community.
Sincerely,
Senetta Carter, Ed.S
