Princeton Engineering Education for Kids (PEEK) general goals as an organization are:
To get kids interested in engineering from a young age, and to promote engineering as a viable and exciting career path for girls.
To increase kids' ability to understand and manipulate the physical world around them.
To supplement pre-existing curriculum units for K-12 student classrooms (e.g. Simple machines).
To promote group-driven and cooperative problem solving through the design process.
To show kids that engineering is fun!

Afterschool Science PLUS (AS+), After-School Math PLUS (ASM+), and the Science, Gender, and Afterschool (SGA) Community of Practice Website are three NSF-funded afterschool initiatives. AS+ and ASM+ help group leaders facilitate fun, hands-on science and math activities; provide positive information about who does science and math; dispel stereotypes about girls and women in science and math; and create opportunities for students to see science and math as part of their everyday experiences. SGA is a unique web-based community of practice on science, gender and afterschool. www.edequity.org
-Kay Widmer and Mary Penny
NJ Trails Association will introduce your afterschool program to the world of exploring science outdoors! Navigating the web site, walking, hiking and studying science on the trail will be presented. A short demonstration walk on the Greenway grounds will end the day!
