Conversation: Recruiting and Retaining Frontline Youth Development Workers
Subject: Recruiting and Retaining Frontline Youth Development Workers
Capturing Promising Practices in the Recruitment and Retention of Frontline
Youth Workers
Turnover is a critical issue to building a stable, prepared, supported
workforce that is committed to the development of young people. Many of
your organizations are struggling with the issue of retaining your frontline
youth development worker. In order to provide strategies for your
organizations, the National Collaboration for Youth has spent the last year
surveying, interviewing, dialoguing and capturing promising strategies used
at the local level to better recruit and retain frontline youth development
workers. We provide these strategies in a longer publication and two 4-page
summaries in order to assist you in the area. We hope these practices prove
helpful in your efforts to build a capable, stable workforce.
