Dear Educational and Community Leaders,
NFTE is now accepting applications for up to 25 local high school and
middle school teachers to go through our five day Certified
Entrepreneurship Teacher Training this summer at George Washington
University. We do have scholarship funds available through Allied
Capital, MAVA etc for public and charter schools who have Principal
permission to attend the training and start a NFTE class.
It would mean a great deal to us if you could share this message with the
teachers, business department chairs, Principals etc. who you feel might
be interested.

Become a NFTE Teacher
NFTE¡¯s youth entrepreneurship program is a powerful tool to help teachers
and youth workers reach students in low-income communities. Its hands-on,
experiential methodology engages young people and helps them improve their
academic, business and life skills. The curriculum:
Can be used in middle school or high school
Is adaptable for one semester or full school year
Can stand alone as an entrepreneurship course or be integrated with
economics, marketing, or other business courses
Is there a NFTE program in your school or community-based organization? Do
you want to bring NFTE to your school or CBO? Contact the NFTE program
office in your area. They will guide you through the process, from
ordering curriculum to teacher training.

NFTE University offers an accredited entrepreneurship training program for
youth work professionals and teachers of economics, business, marketing,
entrepreneurship, math and social studies, who are planning school-based
and out-of-school entrepreneurship programs.
Through peer teaching, instructor-led sessions, and the creation of a
business plan, participants learn how to teach key concepts in the NFTE
curriculum. They also receive guidance from NFTE staff on implementation
strategies. NFTE¡¯s curriculum aligns with National Council for the
Teaching of Mathematics (NCTM), National Council for Social Studies (NCSS)
and the US Department of Labor Secretary¡¯s Commission on Achieving
Necessary Skills (SCANS) standards.
After launching NFTE youth entrepreneurship programs, certified teachers
enter NFTE¡¯s international teacher corps, and can access ongoing teaching
resources, professional development opportunities, international awards
and alumni services for their students. They also have access to the
Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher (CET) website.
