Dear Colleagues:
I'm interested in interviewing people working in youth media
about your thoughts about intellectual property, copyright
and fair use. Please email me if you would like to be
interviewed about this topic.
As part of a project supported by the MacArthur Foundation,
my colleagues Pat Aufderheide, Peter Jaszi and I are trying
to learn more about how copyright and fair use are perceived
among educators, artists and activists who work with young
people on media production and media analysis activities.
We want to hear from people who are confused about these
topics, people who have strong opinions, and even from those
of you who just don't care about this issue. Questions about
the rights of owners and users of intellectual property are
emerging as a result of the rise of user-generated content
on the Internet and other digital technologies. We'd like to
benefit from your thinking about these issues, especially as
they relate to your work with youth media, education and
community development.
If you would like to participate in our research, we will
arrange for a 30 - 40 minute phone call where you can share
your questions, thoughts and ideas. Thanks for your help!
Renee
