[YL] October Update - Dynamic Youth Educator Headed to New England

Hi Everyone,

I have been working hard over the last several months to arrange a  
visit to the U.S. for Dennis Kimambo, an outstanding community  
educator from Nakuru, Kenya. I am pleased to say that we've secured  
his visa and just now raised funds for his travel, which will take  
place the 15 October to 2 November, 2007.

I wanted to let you know this, especially any of you in the New  
England area, in case you wanted to either join us for a Peace Tiles  
workshop in Vermont or to bring Dennis to your school as a presenter/ 
special guest. Either way it is a wonderful opportunity to learn  
about Dennis' work and how he is using the Peace Tiles process  
(http://www.peacetiles.net) to raise awareness and promote behavior  
change around HIV/AIDS as well as to learn about the process and how  
it can be integrated into classrooms as a way to deepen connections  
between personal stories and big global issues.

Please feel free to drop me a line at lars at mixedmedia.us if you think  
you might be interested in joining us, or bringing Dennis in for a  
visit. We are also looking for contacts among youth-donors and  
educators who might be able to support Dennis and his work in Kenya  
with whom we can meet while he is here in the US.
