Alan:

You might find this initiative in Chicago - the Flashpoint Academy - of
interest. It is a two year post secondary school for folks interested in
developing real skills in multimedia skills. Its educational elements could be
driven down, in parts and at introductory levels, into the K-12 curriculum.

And then Journalism 2.0 funded by Knight:

_Outline to Journalism 2.0_ (http://www.kcnn.org/resources/journalism_20/)

_Journalism 2.0_ (http://www.j-lab.org/Journalism_20.pdf)

These efforts could be construed to bringing digital media skills to large
numbers of "intermediaries" and then to the mass markets.
